Although it had been unoccupied for a number of years and had fallen into disrepair, the house and land it sits on, was still very important to the owners. The time had come for a new generation of the family to call it home.

We were honored to assist with this transformation. It looked rough from the exterior, but inside things were in decent shape. The main original section of the house had very little electricity and never had plumbing. Modern conveniences, like a kitchen and bathroom had been added in wood frame additions over the years. Those had deteriorated and were removed prior to our involvement.

We designed new additions, one for a modern kitchen, family room, mud room and powder room on the first floor. Adding to the second floor housed a new master bedroom suite, hall bathroom and laundry room. The additions are situated and scaled to keep the main stone house as the focal point in the composition.

It is satisfying to drive past this building and know this old building will continue to shelter members of this family for many years to come.
